Building on the success of the TomTom ONE, the TomTom ONE XL ups the ante with a gorgeous widescreen, 4.3-inch display, and expanded traffic options that include GPRS- and optional RDS-TMC radio-based real-time traffic information. Like TomTom's other navigation systems, the ONE XL gives you coverage in all fifty of the United States, as well as Canada--all stored on 1 GB of internal memory.
The ONE XL provides clear and accurate turn-by-turn voice instructions, so that you don't have to take your eyes off the road while your vehicle is on the move. Voice instructions are issued at a speed-sensitive volume, so as your vehicle's engine becomes louder or quieter as your speed changes, the volume adjusts itself accordingly, guaranteeing clear and easy listening. And because voice instructions are available in over 30 languages, just about anyone will find the TomTom ONE XL to be an invaluable system.
With its touch-sensitive screen, the TomTom ONE XL puts programming and operation literally at your fingertips to make sophisticated technology simple. The built-in database offers thousands of points of interest for you to use as destinations or reference points as you plan your trip. The ONE XL will also provide a selection of available routes, giving you the option of avoiding toll roads or choosing between the quickest or the most scenic routes. The database includes zip codes to simplify your route selection, and for extra convenience, the ONE XL lets you save the addresses of frequent destinations, making route planning easier and faster than ever. Other display features include a compass mode to assist you with directional orientation, and an anti-glare screen for optimal viewing even in direct sunlight.
For additional navigational features to assist with trip planning, the built-in Bluetooth connection provides access to TomTom PLUS subscription-based services, so that you can tune in to the latest traffic and weather conditions, as well as download additional city maps, voices, points of interest, and much more. The ONE XL adds to these capabilities with FM radio-based RDS-TMC traffic information as an available accessory (not included).
Weighing less than 10 ounces and measuring 3.4 x 4.7 x 1.2 inches, the TomTom ONE XL can be easily installed in any vehicle. An included windshield suction mount holds it in place. Plus, with an operating temperature range of an icy -10 degrees to a sweltering 55 degrees Celsius (14 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit), the navigator is durable enough for New England winters or Arizona summers. The TomTom ONE XL is powered by an internal lithium ion battery that can be charged from your vehicle's cigarette lighter with the included 12-24V adapter.

You do not need to have personal auto insurance to rent a car; they will ask you if you would like to purchase their insurance for the duration of the rental contract. If, however, you have your own insurance policy, be sure to call your agent to see if you are covered during your use of a rental car. If your personal auto policy covers you, there is no need to purchase a policy from the rental company.
After you have called around, found the best deal and reserved your choice car; it is time to pick it up. Be sure to have all of your personal paperwork with you, including your auto policy if you will not be buying theirs. Before you sign the contract, read through it and ask any questions you may have.
You will of course, need a valid drivers license to rent the car. If you do not have a license, they will not rent to you under any circumstances. Most companies will also require you to reserve your car with the use of a major credit card, however, you can pay in cash if you would prefer.
Keep in mind that most rental companies will not rent to any driver under the age of 25. If you fall under that magic number, you more than likely will need to get an older relative or friend to sign the actual contract for you.

It's official... Subaru has confirmed that it will pull out of the World Rally Championship with immediate effect.
Holding back tears during an extraordinary press conference today in Tokyo, Subaru president Ikuo Mori announced that his company would be withdrawing from the World Rally Championship.
“We had originally planned to continue Works’ rallying for one more year and consider our options at the end of the 2009 season, but falling sales and the worsening global economic climate has brought our decision forward a year,” he said.Following hot on the heels of Honda’s shock withdrawal from Formula One earlier this month and Suzuki’s surprise exit from WRC only yesterday, Subaru’s announcement today means that the WRC is without Japanese representation from next year.In its 19 years on the WRC stage, Subaru, together with its racing arm Subaru Tecnica International (STi), captured three manufacturer titles while picking up triple driver’s championships with Colin McCrae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg. In recent years however, Subaru had been struggling in the wake of a seemingly invincible Citroen piloted by Sebastien Loeb. Mori said that his phrasing – “Subaru will cease all Works operations with regard to its WRC participation” - did not mean that Subaru will never race again. “But we will not be entering rallying for the foreseeable future.” He intimated that the company needed to focus on its core technologies including the well-known horizontally-opposed engines and 4WD drivetrain in addition to enhancing its environmental and safety features on future products. As Mori started to thank Subaru fans for supporting the blue liveried world rally team, and express “just how difficult it was to reach this decision,” he was overcome with emotion, and had to pause for around ten seconds to compose himself. “While this decision is sudden it was necessary,” he stressed as he explained that his rally directors were at this very moment in discussions with WRC partner Prodrive, and drivers Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson as to how to proceed forward. While Subaru would cancel all works operations, Mori said that his company was exploring ways it could assist private teams on a significantly scaled down basis. While Subaru’s shock announcement came just one day after Suzuki revealed their intentions to quit WRC, Mori stressed that his company’s decision was not influenced by Suzuki. “Our final, painful decision was made after lengthy in-house consultations yesterday, taking into careful consideration all that is happening on the global stage at present.” That of course not only includes Subaru’s poor WRC results, falling global sales and its decision to cut world-wide production by 40,000 units in 2009, but the fact that the cut-off date for registration for next year’s WRC was December 15, yesterday. Throughout almost all of its 19 years in WRC, Subaru has used the blue Impreza as an image that has not only become synonymous with the company, but is a symbol of its racing spirit. The big question is, which will be the next firm to fall in Japan? All eyes are now on Toyota.

Looks good and works well, By Rolando Guerra Jr. "gentle dental" (Laredo, Texas) -
This is pretty nice material BUT, you need to do it without being in a hurry. I used the paper backing, not the tint itself to serve as the windshield template. Use a spray water bottle with one drop of dish soap. One more thing, cover the dashboard with a large beach towel. Good luck!
Exactly What I Needed, By D. Doxey "dylan" (San Diego, CA) -
I purchased this so I could put some tint on the window where my webcam is pointed. The webcam image is over saturated in the morning during sunrise and in the high noon time of day. This material is easily trimmed with a pair of scissors. I placed two layers in front of the webcam and the image is much improved.
