It's official... Subaru has confirmed that it will pull out of the World Rally Championship with immediate effect.

Holding back tears during an extraordinary press conference today in Tokyo, Subaru president Ikuo Mori announced that his company would be withdrawing from the World Rally Championship.

“We had originally planned to continue Works’ rallying for one more year and consider our options at the end of the 2009 season, but falling sales and the worsening global economic climate has brought our decision forward a year,” he said.Following hot on the heels of Honda’s shock withdrawal from Formula One earlier this month and Suzuki’s surprise exit from WRC only yesterday, Subaru’s announcement today means that the WRC is without Japanese representation from next year.In its 19 years on the WRC stage, Subaru, together with its racing arm Subaru Tecnica International (STi), captured three manufacturer titles while picking up triple driver’s championships with Colin McCrae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg. In recent years however, Subaru had been struggling in the wake of a seemingly invincible Citroen piloted by Sebastien Loeb. Mori said that his phrasing – “Subaru will cease all Works operations with regard to its WRC participation” - did not mean that Subaru will never race again. “But we will not be entering rallying for the foreseeable future.” He intimated that the company needed to focus on its core technologies including the well-known horizontally-opposed engines and 4WD drivetrain in addition to enhancing its environmental and safety features on future products.As Mori started to thank Subaru fans for supporting the blue liveried world rally team, and express “just how difficult it was to reach this decision,” he was overcome with emotion, and had to pause for around ten seconds to compose himself. “While this decision is sudden it was necessary,” he stressed as he explained that his rally directors were at this very moment in discussions with WRC partner Prodrive, and drivers Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson as to how to proceed forward. Throughout almost all of its 19 years in WRC, Subaru has used the blue Impreza as an image that has not only become synonymous with the company, but is a symbol of its racing spirit. Excellent price, cool features and hasn't got me lost...yet

I bought this recently, knowing nothing about any GPS models and the differences between them. I was attracted by the low price and decided I would take a chance. If it didn't work well, I would simply return it within the 30 days.

It didn't take long for the unit to establish my location (home). Figuring out how to use it took less than 10 minutes. Entering destination information is easy, simply tapping on the screen, and the unit allows you to store favorite locations. Voice instructions are clear and easy to follow and there have been no misdirections. Amongst a number of cool features, I like the fact that you can do a "demo" run - sort of like a trial run of the journey before driving - very cool! So far, no problems at all and I wish I had bought one earlier, instead of trying to follow printed MapQuest directions. I would like to come back and rereview once I have used this for longer.

One reason I have not given this 5 stars at this time, is that the mounting unit (which for some reason does not match the picture in the instructions) is a little short, which makes positioning in the car a little challenging. Not enough of a problem to bother me though.

Also a little troubling, is sometimes it doesn't recognize a street name, which means that you have to either be familiar with the area or experiment a little to help the unit pinpoint the exact location. I can do this in the state where I live. Not sure I could do this in other states though.

Overall, so far so good and, as it hasn't got me lost yet, I am very satisfied with performance and price.

Worth every penny, and not a cent more, By Sebastin Garrett (San Jose, CA) -

I had a small but noticeable dent in the fender and I wanted a cheap way to mostly fix it before committing to a full body shop. Dent King can do some jobs, but not all. For what it does, it's a pretty good product. If you fall into the category where it can help, it's worth it.

It's a "do it yourself" dent repair kit for your car. It "pulls" dents back out and is a fairly good solution for dents that ONLY require pulling "back out". This includes door and shopping cart dings you'd get in a parking lot. It has to be minor, no larger than a grapefruit, and only cosmetic dent damage to a metal panel where there is NO crease. It does not address scratches.

The ideal dent for the Dent King to repair is damage from a blunt object, like a rounded plastic corner of a shopping car dinged the middle of your door and left an indentation that is small, did not cause creases, not on a crease.

I think this is but one tool of an arsenal of tools that body shops use. That means, it is only applicable to a specific type of damage. If the dent looks like it just needs to be "sucked back out a bit", then the Dent King probably can help.

Clean the surface with the included cleaner, which smells like regular rubbing alcohol. Use the supplied glue gun and special glue sticks and dab the melted glue onto the end of the "puller" stick and adhere to the dent where you want to pull it. Allow it to cool, then straddle the "puller stick" with the 2 point brace/bridge, and screw on the tightener to the puller stick. This will pull on the dent via the stick until the glue pops off. This action "snaps" the dent out a bit; depending upon how much force the glue was able to supply. This relies on a good paint job (OEM), as it's essentially pulling on the surface of the paint.

It ends up you will need to do this multiple times to slowly work out the dent I can still see my dents but they are greatly reduced; that is, for the ones that the Dent King could be applied to. I don't think "good as new" will ever be achieved with Dent King, but it definitely can reduce "ugly ding" to "little annoying ding". This is one of those products that is just a tool, and really is more dependent upon the skill of the operator. For the price paid, it delivered value for its cost. But that's it.

Going Small: A Smart Experience

With $4-a-gallon gas and waiting lines nine months long, the Smart Fortwo is becoming the car for informed Americans wanting to make a statement.

Sometimes, timing is everything.

When DaimlerChrysler announced in 2006 that it planned to bring the Smart Fortwo micro car to the United States after nearly a decade in Europe, gas prices had reached about $2.80 a gallon. Now, Americans are paying more than $4 a gallon at the pump, SUV sales are plummeting and consumers are hungry for smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles.

The little Smart has been riding a wave of consumer interest, attracting thousands of shoppers willing to put down $99 and wait about nine months for the two-seater. So when I sat in the driver's seat of a blue Smart Fortwo last week, turned, and touched the back window with my finger tips, I had to wonder: Do Americans really want to go this small?

Without question, the pint-sized, whimsical Smart makes a statement.

At a traffic light near the Washington Monument, a group of school kids clad in blue T-shirts cheered when they walked past the car. One boy whipped out his digital camera. When I drove up 14th Street, a young girl screamed, "Nice car. Woo hoo!" Near a construction site, a group of workers in green hard hats and reflective vests huddled around the car to take a closer look.
"They're making the space age come real quick!" exclaimed another man, who pulled over in his SUV to ask me about the pod-shaped car.

Friends and colleagues had their doubts and wondered how I would handle the highway. No car can repeal the laws of physics, and at 1,800 pounds, the Smart would be no match for a big truck, they said.

The fortwo received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's top rating in front- and side-impact testing, and it's equipped with standard side air bags, anti-rollover technology and a reinforced steel cage structure, but the car is dwarfed by the competition. So when I merged onto the Washington Beltway at the tail end of rush hour, I saw their point — in the form of a massive tractor trailer bearing down on me.

I hit the brakes and stayed in the merge lane as the truck blew past me and then steadily (the Fortwo does zero-to-60 miles per hour in 12.8 seconds) drove into suburban Maryland. Even when I surpassed 70 miles per hour at times, I felt comfortable.

This is not a car built for a quick getaway, however. I can't imagine Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron outrunning the bad guys in a fleet of Smarts, like they did aboard Mini Coopers in the 2003 remake of "The Italian Job."

And the 70-horsepower, 1-liter, three-cylinder engine felt somewhat lacking as I was left in the dust, simultaneously, by a Honda Civic on my left and a Saturn SL on my right.

But most car shoppers want to use the Smart's size to their advantage. In a town where finding a parking spot can turn into a 30-minute Tour de DuPont Circle, the Smart offered instant attraction.

The vehicle is so tiny — its length of 8 feet, 10 inches is about three feet shorter than a Mini Cooper — that it can easily fit tight parking spots. The sight of a Fortwo parked in a space marked for "compact only" vehicles evokes laughter. I could even turn into the curb at a right angle and not worry about the back sticking out into the street.

It gets good gas mileage, about 33 miles per gallon in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. While it lags behind hybrids such as the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic hybrid, it gets better gas mileage than larger compact competitors like the Toyota Yaris and the Honda Fit, but not by much.

I found the transmission could be sluggish and halting at times, sometimes jerking the car forward as it shifted between gears. It occasionally struggled to muster the strength to climb hills, and even with its suspension, I could feel practically every bump on the road.

The Smart does have a surprising amount of interior space. I'm about 6 feet tall and had plenty of head and legroom. It sits higher on the road than most passenger cars, and the sunroof gave me the feeling of a larger interior.

Even without a national advertising campaign, Smart has sold 11,399 vehicles in the United States through June and helped boost Daimler's U.S. sales last month. The Fortwo is within the reach of most car shoppers. A basic version will cost little more than $12,000. A convertible costs around $17,000.

The company says it has more than 30,000 customers on a waiting list and about 80 percent are buying when they reach the front of the line.

This is not a family car or the best set of wheels for a weekend trip to Home Depot or Sam's Club. But for people wanting a fuel-efficient second or third car, empty-nesters who no longer need to haul around children, or city dwellers, it's worth a look.

If nothing else, you'll certainly spark conversations — and maybe more.

When I pulled out of a downtown garage one afternoon, a young man paused to admire the car with his girlfriend. She tilted her head, looked at the Smart like it was a puppy, and smiled. As I drove off, she grabbed her boyfriend's hand, planted a kiss on his cheek, and they walked off arm-in-arm.

A car that's a prelude to a kiss. I mean, did the Yugo ever have this kind of effect on people?

America's Cheapest Cars

With oil hitting $147 a barrel last week and gas prices averaging $4.10 nationwide, all of a sudden cheap, small, simple cars are much more appealing.

It's something General Motors has noticed, as evidenced by the company's announcement this week of major cuts to its truck division as part of a multibillion-dollar restructuring. Similarly, Toyota is halting truck production for three months at its U.S. plants.

While the backbone of the cheap-car market has been, traditionally, first-time car buyers, current gas prices are boosting the market for cars $15,000 and under by 17%, according to auto analysts. From the commuter to the family to the cash-strapped and every type of driver in between, small cars are increasingly popular.

While the low prices do reflect a lack of luxury when compared to sedans or SUVs, there's no shortage of options when it comes to cheap cars. Enough, in fact, for buyers to be picky, and wind up with a quality ride with enough bells and whistles to suit their individual needs.

"There is nothing bare-bones about the Fit," says Ed Kim, director of industry analysis at AutoPacific Inc., an automotive marketing and product-consulting company, referring to Honda's $13,950 car, ranked at No. 11 on our list. The Fit is a small car, built with the same production quality as the higher-end $21,160 Honda Accord. It comes standard with an adjustable steering column and four-speaker audio system with speed-sensitive volume control that automatically becomes louder when driving at faster speeds and softer at lower speeds. The car gets 30 mpg for the automatic transmission, and is equipped with multiple airbags in the front, rear and side.

Other vehicles among the cheapest cars available are the Chevrolet Aveo, ranked No. 2 at $11,460; the Toyota Yaris, third at $11,550; and the Kia Spectra, fifth at $12,895.

Varied as the options may be right now, however, that might not be the case in the future. Low-priced cars are often competing with higher-end, inexpensive used cars, the result of automakers building vehicles that are more durable, reliable and longer-lasting, says Alexander Edwards, automotive division president of the market research firm Strategic Vision.

Just the Basics

If price is your only concern, and you want the absolute cheapest new car available in America, it's the Korean-made Kia Rio, which starts at $10,890. At that price you get a five-speed manual transmission with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg. What you don't get, however, is an air conditioner, audio system, power window or power door locks. But you do get a complete airbag system that includes front-seat mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags. To get the aforementioned basic amenities and an automatic transmission, buyers would instead have to go with the Rio LX, which starts at $12,815.

The newest addition to the cheap car market is the Smart Fortwo, a two-seater powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine. It produces 71 horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg. Popular in Europe for several years now, the Smart made its debut last year in the U.S. as a 2008 model-year vehicle and ranks fourth on our list. There are only three versions available; the base model Pure is priced at $11,590 with a manual transmission. It is the only vehicle on our list that offers power locks and electronic stability control as standard, which helps drivers better maintain control in adverse situations.

If these cars seem a little too basic, keep in mind that it's impossible to buy a new car for less than about $11,000, says Edwards. About 10 years ago, there were some vehicles available at, or below, that price--like the Geo Metro, which GM discontinued in 1997. Blame the price hikes on inflation and general improvements, such as nicer interiors and added standard safety features. That combination caused the price of cheap cars to increase 20% to 30% since the 1990s, says Edwards.

Safety First

All of the vehicles on the list have standard or optional side-impact and side curtain airbags, but you may have to purchase a higher-priced version if you want additional safety features. However, all of the safety equipment does little to help save lives in the event of a crash involving a small car and bigger vehicle.

On the bright side, though, today's small cars are safer than ever before, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Toyota Yaris, Smart Fortwo Pure, Honda Fit and Nissan Versa all earned the IIHS "good" rating in front- and side-impact crash tests, making them among the safest cars on the list. The Versa and the Mitsubishi Lancer (the latter earned “good” for front testing but has not been tested for side impact) were the only vehicles on the list to earn “good” in rear-impact testing. The Versa is the safest car on the list, having earned triple “good” ratings in all three areas.

Auto analysts expect automakers to continue making improvements--safety and otherwise--as a new generation of demanding buyers comes of age. (Americans aged 14-30, many of whom have yet to take driver's training, number 76 million, about the same size as the Baby Boomer generation.) But improvements to these cars to suit those buyers will come at a cost: While cheap cars will get better, their prices will creep up the more they're packed with appealing features.

"Generation Y buyers have grown up with technology, conveniences and luxury," says Kim. "They don't want to earn things; they want them now, and they expect them now. Automakers are scrambling to get high-end features into small vehicles."

According to the mileage book in my glovebox, I averaged about 21 miles per gallon in May. So far in June, I'm at 26.

New, more fuel-efficient, car?

Nope, I'm commuting in the same old Volvo S60 that has seen better days. Same dent in the right rear door. Same old Cheerios wedged under the child safety seat in back. (Yeah, I know. I'll get to it, Honey).

So how did I do it? I'm trying to learn to drive more efficiently, and little by little, it's working. With a few simple changes, you can easily squeeze more gas mileage out of the car you're already driving.

A Note on the Calculations:

Your mileage will vary. Governments and automakers estimate fuel mileage savings by percentage -- do x and you'll get five percent better fuel mileage. I wanted to know what they meant in real dollars, so I used the average mileage Americans actually got from their cars in 2007 (22.4 mpg, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics) and boosted it by the percentage each tip should gain. I've assumed you spend 55 percent of the time driving in the city and 45 percent driving on the highway. I borrowed those assumptions from the formula EPA uses to calculate the mileage of new cars.

Using the average price of a gallon of gas as of June 12 ($4.05, according to AAA) and assuming you drive 15,000 miles a year (according to EPA estimates), I calculated what each tip would save in a year. The numbers aren't a perfect prediction -- I have no idea what you drive, or what's in your trunk -- but they do provide an interesting perspective. Here are ten easy ways to put the math to the test and put some more cash in your wallet.

1. Get that "Check Engine" Light Checked Out: Possible Savings: Off the charts

A faulty oxygen sensor -- a fairly common cause of those unexplained "check engine" lights -- can actually cost you up to 40 percent of your engine's performance. If the light's on, make the appointment now. It could pay for itself very quickly.

2. Check Your Tire Pressure: Possible Savings 133.9 gallons/year ($542/yr)

According to some government estimates, the average driver could boost their fuel efficiency by 25 percent just by keeping their tires inflated. That's often a free, or cheap, repair. On my way to work, I pass two gas stations with air compressors I can use for free, and three -- apparently owned by cheapskates -- that take quarters.

3. Change Your Air Filter: Possible Savings 60.9 gallons/yr ($247/yr)

Gas is half of the combustion equation. Air is the other half. A clogged air filter can rob 10 percent of your engine's efficiency. A new air filter can get that 10 percent back -- usually for under $15.

4. Drive 60 on the Highway, Not 75: Possible Savings: 57.8 gallons/year ($234/yr)

On the highway, stay close to the speed limit, and keep your speed as constant as traffic allows. Most cars reach optimal gas mileage at about 60 miles per hour. Speeding up increases wind resistance against the car, making the engine work harder and burn more gas. According to the EPA, each 5 mph over 60 that you drive decreases fuel efficiency by up to seven percent.

5. Turn Off the A/C: Possible Savings 31.9 gallons/yr ($129/yr)

Some air conditioners rob an engine up to five percent of its fuel economy. There is some controversy about this one -- many newer cars are able to compensate for the energy used by an air conditioner and don't suffer the same penalty for keeping cool.

6. Get Your Engine Tuned: Possible Savings 25.8 gallons/year ($104/yr)

Most of us can boost our mpg by four percent with a simple tune-up.

7. Drive Calmly in the City: Possible Savings: 17.9 gallons/yr ($73/yr)

There's a red light up ahead. You're going to stop when you get to it. Do you keep your foot on the gas until it's time to brake for the light? Most of us do, but that doesn't necessarily make sense. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that accelerating rapidly and braking hard can reduce your car's fuel efficiency by as much as five percent. And that may be a low estimate. Look at it this way -- are you willing to spend money to stop at that light sooner?

8. Lose Weight: Possible Savings 13.1 gallons/yr for each 100 pounds you remove ($104/yr)

Government estimates say that an extra 100 pounds in your car can reduce fuel efficiency by up to two percent. And that's an average -- the smaller the car, the more extra weight makes the engine work harder.

So, empty the trunk. In winter, don't just scrape the windshield, scrape the entire car -- snow and ice add to the weight of your car.

9. Lose the Roof Rack: Possible Savings 13.1 gallons/year ($53/yr)

Wind resistance is the enemy of fuel efficiency. Do you have a roof rack? Every time you drive, it's making your car fight wind resistance, and burn fuel. Most of the time, that's money you're spending to carry an empty roof rack. Get a two percent boost by taking the thing off.

10. Change Your Oil on Time: Possible Savings 6.6 gallons/year ($27/yr)

After 3,000 miles, changing your oil (using the recommended grade) gives you back one percent of your car's mpg rating.

How Much Can You Save?

If you follow the tips above, that's $1,514 less you could spend on gas in the next year. Though it's a rough estimate, it shows you what small changes in your habits -- most of which you can make for free -- could do for your wallet.

Call it the revenge of the little guys. With gas prices officially cresting $4--and running higher in many parts of the country--American drivers are finally downsizing in big numbers. Overall auto sales are down about 8 percent so far this year--but sales of large cars and trucks have plunged 23 percent, according to J.D. Power & Associates. There's no mystery behind the shift: Buyers clearly believe high gas prices are here to stay, and are desperate to cut their gas bills.

Among the cars piling up on dealer lots, here are some of the biggest losers:

Hummer. Sierra Clubers can go ahead and cheer: Hummer sales are down by 36 percent so far this year, the biggest drop among a single brand. Sales of the smallest Hummer--the H3, which averages about 15 mpg--have fallen even more than the brawnier H2, which gets a meager 10 mpg or so. Consider some painful Hummer math: With gas at $4, it costs about $120 to fill the tank of an H2, and then you can only go about 300 miles before forking over another $120. No wonder General Motors is considering offloading the whole division.

Nissan Titan. This pickup has never caught on like its American counterparts, and sales are off 45 percent for the year. But even the venerable American brands are hurting. Dodge Ram sales are off 27 percent; Chevy Silverado sales, 26 percent. Sales of the Ford F series, down a mere 19 percent, look healthy by comparison.

Jeep Commander. That thing got a Hemi? Better hope not. The big V-8 engine was a hit back when gas was $1.50, but sales of the Commander--city mileage with the optional Hemi: 13 mpg--have plummeted 48 percent so far this year. Other SUVs are in bad shape, too. Sales of virtually every midsize SUV have fallen by double digits, and there's now such a glut that some dealers won't even accept an SUV as a trade-in.

Chrysler. That deal to lock in $2.99 gas was supposed to move some metal in a tough market, yet Chrysler sales are down 19 percent for the year--with a 25 percent drop in May, when the $2.99 deal was supposed to be luring buyers. And there is the use of folding leather "collars" atop the front bucket seats that can be left down or extended up to cosset the headrest, a simple touch that customize the look of the interior.

BMW was mum on the powerplant and production plans for the CS, insisting that the concept is primarily a styling exercise showcasing future design themes for the automaker. However, its likely that the CS will see production as a sporty alternative to the more stodgy 7 Series flagship.

Renting a car in Ireland for a week or two is no problem. Thanks to the Internet it can be done from the comfort of your home and within minutes. But actually getting the right car for your needs can be difficult. The very concept of "car" is radically different between North America and Europe. Whereas in the US and Canada size really matters, Europeans look for fuel economy and have cramped parking conditions in mind. Here are some hints on choosing the right car when renting.

Transmission
The very first thing to bear in mind is the transmission. Whereas most rental cars in North America will be equipped with automatic transmission, manual transmission is the norm in Europe. In addition the gearshift will be to the left of the driver. If you are not familiar with a manual transmission be sure to ask for an automatic. Be prepared for an extra charge at some rental agencies. And remember that the "exotic" automatic transmissions may sell out fast, so book early.

Fuel Costs
As said before, European drivers are obsessed with fuel efficiency. One look at the price of gas in Ireland, let alone in Northern Ireland, will explain this obsession to US visitors - expect to pay twice the price you are used to. But fuel efficiency of rental cars should normally be great, even for the larger vehicles. Which ultimately makes driving in Ireland not a hugely expensive way of travel.

Interior Space
Most rental cars on offer are standard European or Japanese vehicles, built for cramped road conditions and comparatively short journeys. Especially the lower categories ("Sub-Compact" and "Compact") are typical "city cars" for the occasional user. Even "Mid-Size" in Ireland would be rated "Compact" in the US. So expect tighter conditions and choose a larger vehicle if travelling long distances.

Seats and Legroom
Cars are smaller and Europeans are used to them. This combined leads to the ratings on rental car websites. An international supplier will offer the same size of vehicle with totally different suitability ratings. On the US website rated for two adults and two children, on the Irish website rated for five adults. If you are in any way larger than the average European (5 ft 7 in, 165 pounds) go for a larger vehicle. Some rental companies will tell you equivalent US vehicles to help you choose.

The Trunk
Luggage space in European and Japanese cars can be tight. "Sub-Compact" and "Compact" vehicles will more than likely be of the hatchback type with no actual trunk and a somewhat cramped storage area in the back. Getting four adults and their luggage into a "Sub-Compact" is nearly impossible. If you are planning to take your full baggage allowance go for a "Mid-Size" at least. Do not plan on leaving your luggage in view while touring, this will attract undesirable attention.

Extras
When looking up European rental cars you might notice that air conditioning or cruise control are not necessarily included in the specifications. You will not really miss them. While air conditioning can occasionally be nice during the short Irish summer, cruise control would be of no practical use at all.

The 2008 Ford Focus is offered in two-door coupe and four-door sedan body styles, each with the choice of three trim levels: S, SE, and SES. The lone engine is a 140-hp four-cylinder. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard; a four-speed automatic is optional ($815).

The S coupe ($14,075) and sedan ($14,375) come with cloth upholstery, air conditioning, AM/FM /CD/MP3 player with four speakers and auxiliary input jack, 60/40 split folding rear seat, tilt steering wheel, a tire inflation kit, antitheft system and P195/60R15 all-season tires on steel wheels with hubcaps. Options for S include cruise control ($215), Sirius satellite radio ($195), and a temporary spare tire ($60).

The SE coupe ($15,075) and sedan ($15,375) add power windows, locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry; vehicle message center; and aluminum alloy wheels. SE options consist of an Audiophile sound system with six-disc CD changer and subwoofer ($645); sunroof with overhead maplights ($625); the Driver's Group ($415) with cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with redundant audio controls; Ford Sync in-car communications and entertainment system ($395); a Deluxe Package ($395) with chromed, heated mirrors, chrome door handles, P215/50R16 all-season tires on aluminum alloy wheels, fog lamps, a rear stabilizer bar and sportier suspension settings, metallic interior trim, four-way adjustable driver's seat and a chrome exhaust tip; heated front seats ($115); Ford's Ambient Interior Lighting ($295) that uses LED lights to illuminate the front cupholders and front and rear footwells with the driver's choice of seven different colors; and an alarm ($125).

The SES coupe ($16,075) and sedan ($16,375) add fog lamps, rear spoiler, four-way adjustable driver's seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel with redundant audio controls, cruise control, Ford Sync, rear stabilizer bar and P215/50R16 all-season tires on aluminum alloy wheels. Leather upholstery ($695) is optional, and the SES is available with the SE options.

Safety features that come standard consist of dual-stage front airbags; torso-protecting, seat-mounted front side airbags; head-protecting side curtain airbags; tire pressure monitor; and LATCH-style child seat anchors. Four-wheel antilock brakes with traction control are optional for all models ($385).
